Overview
Martin Walter Company is seeking a field technician to service industrial boat lifting equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and installing Marine Travelifts, Forklifts, and self-propelled Transporters. As a Field Service Technician, you will…
- Service boat hoists, forklifts, and self-propelled transporters.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drive components, and typical mechanical failures.
- Erect new equipment and provide customer training.
- Conduct field inspections, prepare and submit reports with corresponding parts list in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records as it relates to repairs, parts ordering, and time keeping.
- Understand and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
- Respond to emergency customer calls.
- Communicate with office staff on a consistent basis.
Qualifications
- Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge.
- Ability to travel 50% of the time within New England. (Overnight travel reduced based on home location)
- Previous field experience.
- Experience in maintaining industrial equipment with strong hydraulic and electrical aptitude.
- Experience in heavy lifting and rigging.
- Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Must have a safe working record.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.
- Ability to work at heights in excess of 50 feet.
- Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
Not required but a plus: Welding, Machinist, Parker IQAN
- Service technicians will receive manufacturer training, certification, and field training. You will work with our service coordinator, parts manager, and have ongoing local support and factory support.
- Flexible hours and schedule, open to seasonal availability as well.
- Military, Guard, or Reserve with an MOS or NEC code of 63B, 63H, 63S, 63W, 63Y, 91B, 91H, 91L, 91M or CM.
Previous experience servicing Marine Travelifts, boat hoists, cranes, forklifts, engines, and general heavy equipment is a plus.
